Follow-up review - Leupold VX-5HD 2-10x42mm Rifle Scope, 30mm Tube, Second Focal Plane

After mounting the VX-5HD 2-10x40mm on my 338wm, firing less than 2 boxes, this scope has reviled a few disappointing issues. First, the taper from the objective lense is long and prohibited mounting options and proper eye relief adjustment. This may be an intentional design by Leupold to prohibit mounting this scope on anything with a cartridge case length of 30-06 and longer because of the second and biggest issue with this scope. After about 10 or 12 rounds, the scope does the "Leupold leap"! It will jump 6-8" high and an inch or two left. Yes, I do let the barrel cool completely after every 3-4 rounds. No, I am not a knob turner. I wanted this scope to be set and forget. I have a $200 Chinese Burris that holds zero better! I tried calling Leupold but my call was number 36 in the que! It appears Leupold has some major quality control and design issues. This is very disappointing...
