texas shooter's Review of Leupold VX-Freedom 4-12x40mm Rifle Scope, 1" Tube, Second Focal Plane (SFP)
For a budget scope, this is fantastic. The glass is extremely clear, the dials give solid clicks and are firm. The parallax adjustment is easy, although not marked. That's not a problem because it's common for that to be marked incorrectly anyways on other budget brands.
It's a very light scope, so if you want something solid, without adding to much weight, I can't recommend this enough, especially for the price. I bore sighted this, then took it to the range at nailed center at 50 yards.
It is second focal plane only (calibrated for max magnification), but chances are, you'll zoom in all the way before starting to use the moa hash marks, so that was a non-issue for me.
The other odd thing is that the windage has a turret cap and the elevation does not. I'm fine either way, but it's just different. Both turrets are also different styles.
