Disappointed - Leupold VX-Freedom 4-12x40mm Rifle Scopes

Good, bad , ugly hit a lot of the cons deservedly so. Turret clicks are barley there. Knobs are ugly and plastic ( I don’t like plastic ! ). The MAIN gripe I have is the reticle. If you look at the tri moa on their web sight it’s big and cool looking. The actual reticle is not like that. It looks as if the took a wide duplex and threw in some hash marks, squished together . I have no idea how I will use this hold over unless I’m way out past 600 yrds. As for finish, there finish is ugly now. I don’t understand why Leupold would do these things. I am a huge fan of Leupold . 90% of my scopes are Leupold’s , older models . Mostly vx 2s with the locking ring. Those were done with a nice satin finish. These new ones, even a vx3i I picked up had the same rough finish. Some one please tell me why they can’t use aluminum and coat them like they used too and just pass long the cost to the customer at there cost. Couldn’t be that much. We’d be happy they’d be happy. The scope might cost a little more but dam, they are allready down in price to begin with. NOW the good part, Leupold repair shop is awesome. If you think your scope turrets aren’t clicking like they should be, send it in and they will fix it. Just make sure your very polite and nice to your rep. I’ve called in with a attitude and it’s not been pretty. Poor guys are taking a lot of heat for the CEO’s decisions to make a few cheap changes. Another plus is there warranty. You rifle falls off a cliff and lands on the scope, they will replace it , if you send in the pieces. I will keep buying Leupold because I’m loyal like that . BUT DONT PUSH IT ( CEO’s ) Don’t get greedy. The military will not carry you guys forever. We the loyal customer will.
