We got this one after getting our daughter a poor quality (same price) microscope. It is lightweight and easy for little people to move around. Nice clear images although best pictures in low magnification. Love that we can look at slides and 3D objects. If purchasing for a young child, I might recommend that you spend the extra money for a microscope that connects to the computer. Easier to talk about what you are seeing. Overall, we are happy with this product.
Pros:
- above and below light source.
- battery or plug in A/C power
- great kit and supplies
Cons:
- sometimes hard to focus in higher magnifications.
- no cover slips
Best Used for:
- slides and small objects.
