Nice rod, well built, but - Lew's American Hero Speed Stick Spinning Rod

The rod felt like it was well built. The hook holder location on the rod is between the handles. How would you carry this rod without getting a hook in your hand? I own many rods and have never seen the wire hook holder anywhere but above the reel seat. Poor design in my opinion. I am returning the rod.
