Lockdown gun safe dehumidfier - Lock Down Gun Safe Dehumidifier Rod

I wanted a dehumidifier for my smallish gun safe and bought the 18 inch Lockdown Gun Safe Dehumidifier.
It was easy to install; however, I was concerned about getting the hot surface in too close proximity to the stocks on my firearms. I supported the stocks on a piece of wood holding the stocks slightly away from the heater. I have had the unit installed for about a month and have had no issues to date. After this winter, I will update my review.

Pros: inexpensive and easy to install
Cons: suprisingly hot exposed surface
