I bought this for my AR and I got to tell you, It was worth it. The multi- reticle a are great for different kinds of shooting, and all are accurate. I sighted mine in recently and afterward I was hitting 6" gongs from 88 yds standing. (That's good for me.) I also bought the 2x screw in magnifier separately. For $35 I found it really worth it. It's really helpful at the range for 50+yds, but probable not very practical in any tactical/ combat situation. (It takes a minute to screw it in.)
This red dot is 100% co-witness for my Smith & Wesson M&P 15. I think Lucid makes a lower 1/3 co-witness mount attachment for it. I know they have a quick detach mount for it. Working the controls is easy once you've read the manual once. Working the controls is pretty user friendly.
I prefer he manual brightness as opposed to the auto-adjusting. I find the auto is kind of dim, but I like my dots bright. It is a heavier red dot, and it's also kind of bulky. This doesn't bother me at all, but I mention it for those who it might. It doesn't have the click value etched in the turrets. Again these things are not cons at all, just notable mentions.
Overall, this is an accurate, rugged red dot sight that is great great for AR's. I love the looks, durability, and features. It was exactly what I wanted for my rifle. If you want to see a good review on it, check out the Military Arms Channel on YouTube. He tests everything about it. He even submerses it in a bowl of water.
