Stubb's Review of Luna Optics Digital G3 6-36x50mm Day-Night Vision Monocular & Scope

I purchased this item fully expecting it to be a fantastic “rifle scope “. It was anything but that. First I mounted it with Picatinny supplied Mountain accessory no difficulty to my .22 caliber air rifle. Zeroing it in was an issue! First, you zero your scope. Then through a litany of directions to “Save” the zero Image!? Say what?! So, If you neglect to do this. You’re gonna miss your shot. I don’t know if this is how the other digital night vision scope’s work but this to me seemed very tedious. Next the reticules. Oh my! It is though Luna developed a really good night vision scope. And then said to themselves oh by the way there’s got to be a reticule installed As an afterthought! One is constantly adjusting this Left sided wheel on the side of the scope to get to your menu items which I found very annoying. You’re going through a six major area list of the different items that you want to use on every given shot and/or image. To me this seemed very redundant and something that Luna needs to work on in the future. Finally I could live with these little annoyances however. The issue that made me return the scope was when I fired my shot the scope would turn off or go blank THEN I would get this “Welcome” screen & the scope would power back on?! This to me was intolerable. Luna does state that you cannot have a rifle with a caliber greater than military grade or any magnum loads because of the shock to the scope. This didn’t concern me when I ordered the scope because I had neither because I Owned and was firing a .22 caliber Gamo Break Barrel air Rifle.
Pros:
  • Good night vision view GEN 3?!
Cons:
  • All the above
Best Used for:
  • Window dressing
  • $600 paperweight
