Malcolm Field's Review of Lyman 66 Receiver "Peep" Sights

This peep sight by Lyman is ridiculously easy to install. Just remove the two screws on the left side of the rifle (Marling 336), position the sight base over the screw holes, ind install the replacement screws that are shipped with the peep sight. The peep site isn't cheaply made and thus it is not necessarily inexpensive. Its very solidly built and comes with a hunting aperture and a target aperture; it can also be used without either screw-in aperture. Very small screws (the small size is a little frustrating) allow for windage and elevation adjustments. Once the peep sight is properyly zeroed, windage and elevation markers than be set to zero so the user can always reset the peep sight to zero after adjustments for varying ranges and wind conditions. A zero stop is even provided so that the user can quickly reset the peep sight to zero. Lastly, if for some reason the user wants to use a buckorn sight (I installed a fold-down leaf on my rifle to go with my Lyman peep sight), the main peep sight can easily be withdrawn by depressing the lock mechanism without the necessity out the necessity of removing the screws holding the baseplate. I couldn't be happier with this new peep sight on my Marlin 336.
