Overpriced - Lyman - The Universal Power Trimmer

I purchased one of these during the great panic of 2009. It has since been discontinued, thankfully. Positive: the case length will give consistent trim lengths, but it is not easily learned.
Negatives: The drive motor turns way too slow to obtain clean cuts. The shell holder is the biggest PITA. After 9 years of use, I still have problems with holding a 223 Rem case. About 1 in 5 are failures. There is no detent to hold the drive shaft in place while changing cutters or pilots. The auxiliary tool head runs off a floppy belt drive, again being impossible to hold in place. A shield to deflect brass trimmings is needed to prevent shavings from filling the pilot holders, as well as the base which fills thru the slot for the case holder. As it stands, I would advise not to spend over $50 for one of theseAnother great disappointment from Lyman.
