Most Helpful Positive Review Softer Recoiling
Girlfriend got into competitive shooting. .223 may not recoil a lot for some, but at 120# and having a ultralight rifle, we were looking for something to reduce the felt recoil compared to the standard magpul pad (if you can call it that) for her. This works well, I ordered one for myself.
Most Helpful Negative Review Too stiff to be any different then the stock butpad.
The title says it all. Not softer just thicker. Not thick enough to make a difference in overall stock length. apparently I have to write more for this to qualify as a review. can you write 200 characters about a but pad???

Perfect Fit at the Perfect Price

by Bill Woodson, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on February 23, 2025
I replace all the Magpul butt pads with this one. Its very simple to put on. While its not as comfortable as the Limbsaver, its cheaper and all you need for an AR-15.
Pros:
  • Price
  • easy to install
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • ar 15

Good stuff

by Niko R, Verified Owner from MD, United States Written on September 20, 2024
Originally bought it for the DT carbine stock then realized it doesn’t work for it. Fortunately I had a CTR stock that it found its home on. Works as advertised. Easy to install

Reduces shoulder sting

by Ray Ray, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on June 6, 2024
Easily replaces stock rubber pad and only takes five minutes to install. Had a chance to use it, .7, and it made a world of difference. I cant believe it took me so long to consider this upgrade but boy am I glad that I did.

Nice shape contour but that's it.

by DL, Verified Owner from GA, United States Written on May 16, 2024
The shape is much better than the pad on the STR or CTR stock. If your looking for recoil reduction, I suggest you chose another product. This has very little improvement for that.
Pros:
  • Shape and contours
Cons:
  • Little to no perceived recoil reduction
Best Used for:
  • ????

Makes stock look even better

by SAGA, from CA, United States Written on October 4, 2023
Didn’t bought it for the cushion but to add a little extra length so after choosing the stock position the fit to shoulder would be tighter /snug. Finish is great and fits very tight and flush to stock. I couldn’t find how to upload pics but indeed, makes the stock and rifle look even better.!!!! Highly recommend for the tactical narcissist that loves to make their stuff look not good but perfect.
Pros:
  • Fit, finish, LOOOOKKKSSSS!!!!
Cons:
  • non

Nice butt….. pad

by Wulf, from IL, United States Written on December 27, 2021
Install was simple. Nice fit and finish. Increased the LOP as was desired for an moe stock on a 6.5 grendel ar15. Rubber is just as hard as the std butt pad so don’t expect a bunch of felt recoil reduction.
Pros:
  • nice look
  • nice fit
  • good lop increase
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Lop increase on magpul stocks

Magpul CTR Rubber Buttpad

by Anonymous, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on July 11, 2021
The 0.70 Magpul CTR Rubber Buttpad is a great add on to the Magpul CTR stock. Thel Magpul CTR Rubber Buttpad has a better, more comfortabe profile than the stock Rubber Buttpad that comes installed on the CTR stock. Keep in mind, The Magpul CTR Rubber Buttpad does add a little bit of length to the rear of the stock.
Pros:
  • easy to install
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Upgrade existing furniture

Magpul Quality

by Easystreet, Verified Owner from GA, United States Written on December 29, 2020
Three reasons for this. Quality, enhanced recoil management, asthetics. I have one installed on my CTR stock and it is a very good pad in conjunction with a well thought out buffer and spring system. These components come together to flatten out your firing cycle and isnt that what we are looking for. Added bonus is the aggressive profile and finishing touch to the stock end of your rifle, pistol, or SBR. I never have any doubts with Magpul gear it always seems to be purpose driven and very well designed. Is this absolutely necessary? No but does it enhance your shooting experience? Definitely.

Got the larger pad

by MatthewOO0029, from CO, United States Written on September 13, 2020
I would personally highly recommend the largest pad. I have it on mine and in comparison to the limbsaver pad is a different feel but equally as nice. Ok a tad lower in feel as it is stiffer but 223 doesn't really recoil anyways so it's more to adjust length of pull and looks. It does look nice I will say that.

Works as intended

by batonrouge, Verified Owner from LA, United States Written on May 25, 2020
I purchased this to help mitigate recoil and get back on target faster. I have found it helps some and am able to get second shots faster. It adds little to no weight but the waffle design flexes a bit during recoil and absorbs some of the recoil impulse. It also adds a little to the length of pull. I installed this on an adjustable stock, so it did not cause a problem with length of pull. However, it may cause issues with a scope if the buttpad is installed after the scope.
