Black beard's Review of Magpul Industries PMAG D-50 EV9 CZ Scorpion EVO 3 9mm Luger 50 Round Rifle Magazine
Review: Magpul PMAG D-50 EV9 – Ran on DD AR Pistol (9mm PCC)
Ran this drum on my Daniel Defense AR Pistol (9mm setup) and it held up exactly how you’d expect from Magpul—reliable and built right.
Pros:
Reliability: Ran clean through the whole drum—no feeding issues, even dumping it fast.
Build quality: Typical Magpul—solid polymer, tight fit, doesn’t feel cheap at all.
Capacity: 50 rounds is a game changer for range time. Way less reloading.
Loading system: The ratcheting lever makes it way easier than older drums.
Cons:
Weight: Fully loaded, it’s heavy and you feel it on a pistol setup.
Balance: Definitely front-heavy—changes the feel of the gun when shooting.
Bulk: Not practical outside the range.
Bottom line:
For a 9mm AR pistol, this thing is a blast—literally. If you’re just running drills or having fun at the range, it’s worth it. For anything practical, I’d still lean toward stick mags.
