Fatal flaw - Magpul Polymer Trigger Guard

Guilloche's Review of Magpul Polymer Trigger Guard
This is a nice guard for a fair price but it has a major flaw in that the set screw is expected to self tap into the polymer. It's a 5-40 x 5/16" set screw which uses a tiny 1/16" hex key. The hex socket of the screw ended up stripping about half way in, as I was expecting it would. Fortunately I was able to get the screw to back out. I own a machine shop so I grabbed a 5-40 spiral flute bottoming tap and tapped the guard to depth, then installed a new set screw.
If it came already tapped it would be a 5 star product. As is, I would advise doing one of the following: form the threads with a 5-40 socket head cap screw first, which uses a larger 3/32" hex key, or, use a lubricant to reduce the force required for the set screw to self tap. Make sure your hex key is in perfect condition. Good luck.
