Finally got around to installing the unit on an M4 upper.
Tried to install by hand, no dice - VERY tight fit to say
The least. Tool time..
Here’s what worked for me. Oil the bayonet lug and mount , place the
FAB mount on bayonet lug and push on by hand as much as possible.
Insert 3/4” wood dowel rod through the FAB mount body below the ring that tightens around the flashlight body. The dowel runs perpendicular to the barrel.
*** Don’t pound on light mount locking ring, this will bend and ruin the mount****
Using another wood dowel as a wood punch place one end on the perpendicular
Dowel ( this goes through the mount like the light will go ) and tap with soft faced mallet
Until the mount seats properly. Install 4 Allen head screws with loctite and this mount will become essentially permanently installed.
Used a coast led light (TX17R 1250 lumen) that has is .94” body diameter , fits great , looks great, works great.
