Andrew's Review of Mars Trigger AK Forced Reset Trigger Kit
The MarsTrigger V2 AK47 FRT Kit is a really interesting upgrade for anyone looking to get a different shooting experience out of their AK. Compared to the original MARS design, the V2 feels like a much more refined system, particularly with the spring loaded reset that gives the trigger a much more positive and consistent feel. The biggest thing to understand though is that this is not an AR style drop in trigger. AK's can vary quite a bit in their dimensions and tolerances, so fitment can be a little more involved depending on the rifle you're installing it in. That isnt necessarily a knock against MARS, it's just something you need to be aware of going in. Once properly fitted, the V2 has the potential to be a very impressive system and the reset is noticeably different from a conventional AK trigger.
Overall, I think MARS did a good job addressing some of the shortcomings of the original design with the V2. The build quality feels solid, the spring loaded system is a worthwhile improvement, and it gives the AK a very unique trigger feel that you just don't get from a standard aftermarket trigger. Installation and fitment are really the only areas I'd consider a potential drawback, especially if you're expecting something you can simply drop in and forget about. For someone who is comfortable working on AK's, or who has a competent gunsmith handle the install, I'd say the MARS V2 is a very interesting option and one I'd definitly recommend checking out if you're looking for something different.
