Awesome! And it's about time!

Best tactical/ load out rucksack. Period.
I am a huge Maxpedition fan, and have rocked their Xantha backpack for over a year, and the Falcon II before that.
Well constructed, Intuitively laid out, versatile,
The Xantha is wider, but has very few internal pockets or organizers.
The Gurfalcon is taller than the Xantha, and is very similar to theFalcon II except that it is taller, had more advanced construction, AND had an internal frame.
The frame is stiff enough to do its job while adding only minimal weight.

Excellent amounts of room for a compact 3-5 day load out.
Detachable bottom compartment converts to a rugged fannypack style case.
Additionally, those familiar with Maxpeditions earlier offerings will be familiar with the inherent "stiffness"bog their Cordura material used for ruck construction, this stiffness was sorely missed on the Xantha, but is back in the Gyrfalcon.

However, and this is NOT AN ISSUE with Optics Planet, they are great, and their customer service is Top Notch.
My only issue is with Maxpedition, they have been promising this ruck since last years SHOT Show.
Claiming it would come out around October of last year.
Don't leave me hanging like that.... Don't be a gear tease.
Pros:
  • Internal frame
  • Stiffness
  • intuitive design
  • detachable bottom pack
  • thin profile allows for better tactical transitioning than with a wider pack
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Tactical Load Outs
  • 3-5 day Bug Out Bag
