Legacy Reviewer's Review of Maxpedition Thermite Versipack Sling Pouch 0401

Though the Thermite Versipack can be converted to be worn over the shoulder or on your hip, the strap is WAY too long to be worn as the latter option without some modification; black electrical tape won't work for this one.

Also, it's incredibly bulky considering how little it holds. I had these items in it and they filled it up pretty much to the brim:

-Keys
-Droid x smartphone
-Oakley Large Soft Vault sunglasses case
-Chapstick
-Hand Sanitizer
-Electrical Tape
-3 ft. 550 cord
-Steamlight Sidewinder Flashlight
-Leatherman Kick
-2 Pens and a Sharpie
-Matches

Don't be fooled, this may seem like a bunch of stuff, but they're mostly small items that I pretty much had to cram in there (besides the flashlight, that fit like a glove in the side pocket), rendering the top zipper pocket useless, and inflating the bag to about the size of a small cantaloupe. For as bulky as this bag becomes, it really disappoints with how little it holds.

Also, when worn on your hip (after the aforementioned modification), if you need to run around anywhere, this bag will slide to the front of your leg, making movement awkward.

All in all, I don't see any reason to purchase the Thermite Versipack unless it happens to be the perfect size for whatever you want to carry. In my mind though, there're other more versatile options to carry what you'd have this bag carry, and do it better.
Pros: Lots of neat pockets
Cons: that are either useless or ungainly.
