Mark D's Review of MDT Buttstock Spacer Kit

Previous review was pretty harsh on these for not being included. I understand the sentiment, but I also understand the MDT Oryx is a budget chassis so they're doing all they can to keep costs down. They also work with a lot of the other MDT butt stocks (MDT SRS LITE, MDT SCS-LITE, and MDT CCS) which all have them included. The XRS and HNT26 CHASSIS Systems come with a package of these. The ORYX, TIMBR FRONTIER, MDT FIELD STOCK do NOT come with these.

The Oryx Chassis does include one of these spacers but if you need a longer length of pull they're good to have. A lot of people fit into the standard length of pull including myself (hence the "Standard" part of the name). I totally forgot to check if I actually needed them and just picked them up in case I wanted them. I'm not using them but if I ever need to adjust it or sell the chassis I have them. They're cheap enough that it's not a big deal. I mainly went with the Oryx because it was my favorite chassis option available for the 10/22.

If you're really trying to save money you could use washers or something else for the same effect. Just depends on the look you want. I do agree they're a tad expensive for what they are. They're just plastic spacers with 2 bolts. I feel like $20 would be a more fair price but the volume they sell might just be too low to bring the cost down.
Pros:
  • They work
  • quality is good
Cons:
  • Don't look great stacked up
  • little more expensive than they need to be
Best Used for:
  • MDT Butt Stocks, Chassis, and Stocks
