I bought the Meade LX90GPS 10 inch. The quality of the image is amazing. It will blow your mind. However, the weight of the telescope is an issue. I suppose that is the obvious trade-off with telescopes. I can barely lift it myself. Its really a 2 person operation. One consequence of the weight is the scope actually fell over at one point while trying to move it - and its currently back at Meade for $400 of repairs. If I had it to do all over again I might have gotten the 8 inch.
The auto-alignment never works as seamlessly as you think it should. Definitely takes practice. Once you get it aligned in tracks/finds everything and the slow motor is completely silent (the prior versions made kind of grinding noise).
I would get some extra eye pieces if you don't already have them. If you are paying that much for a telescope you are going to want to budget $300-$400 more for some good wide-angle eye pieces.
