Wow! a worthy investment! - Meade LX90ACF 12in Advanced Coma-Free Telescope with UHTC 1210-90-03

I am a seasoned astronomer but the most I had spent on a telescope before was about $800, so committing to a scope of this caliber and expense was a little daunting at first. However, I couldn't be happier with my decision! I looked at similar telescope by Meade competitors, and I must say this is by far the best. If you're a true enthusiast and are ready for the ultimate scope, I highly recommend the LX90. One thing that should be said, however, is that the telescope is (not surprisingly) very heavy. Manuevering (let alone moving or transporting it) is difficult and really takes two people, so I would recommend taking this into account if you are planning on using and moving it frequently without a companion. Otherwise, it is definitely worth the splurge. This scope is absolutely amazing. You won't believe what you can see! Highly recommended!
