A very nice entry level telescope - Meade NG70-SM Altazimuth Refractor A-Series Beginner Telescope, 20218

I was blown away by how well made this telescope is for the price paid. Although this is my first telescope, I believe this one will last many years and may even be something I can pass down to my nephew one day. It uses standard 1.25" eyepieces, so there are many accessories and options for this telescope. The only thing I wasn't impressed with (and this can be remedied by selecting higher power eyepieces or a Barlow lens) is that I have some midrange binoculars that magnify as well or better for landscape viewing. Overall I would definitely recommend this telescope if you are looking for a good entry level unit.
Pros: Very please with the quality of materials and workmanship
Cons: Best suited for landscape or planet viewing, not stars.
