DrMuleyPhd's Review of Meopta Meostar HD 15x56mm Roof Prism Binoculars
I shopped around for a while looking at all the Big glass Zeiss Swarovski Leica and vortex and I finally decided to pull the trigger on these This was not done in haste as I did my research and all I can say is these Binos exceeded my expectations and then some First off after carefully reading the few reviews of these online one in particular saying it bested the old swaro and is about ninety seven percent of the new swaro slc hd for just about two thirds of the price this is absolutely true
What I like about these binos is the clear crisp image that is just maybe a tad warm seriously hard to see it though and the edge to edge clarity is excellent The field of view is smaller than comparable binos on paper but in reality I would bet my bottom dollar you would be hard pressed to see it
The ergonomics are done thoughtfully and the focus is nice and smooth and stays in focus no fiddiling around with it is needed as it is not a fine focus but just right in my mind The eyecups and eye relief is great as well though some eyeglass wearers maybe put off with its fifteen mm eye relief me personally I used these with my glasses and did not have a problem at all but of course everyone is different and suggest trying them out beforehand
The low light that these capture in the early and final minutes of daylight is great for a bino this size is it as good as my Swarovski ten by fifty EL No but that is a different size and the exit pupil is much bigger on those For what it is I can wholly say it does an exceptionally great job
All in all these binos are a great value for your dollar with added emphasis on value it is an excellent bang for your buck bino that does not compromise quality and craftsmanship anywhere I honestly feel this was the best purchase I have made in a long long time and I'm not worried about the warranty as it is lifetime and transferable Full disclosure I have not dealt with Meopta regarding customer service so I can not give an opinion on that but with that kind of warranty it says a lot about the quality of bino you are purchasing as in they stand behind a quality instrument which if taken care of should last you a lifetime If you need to have swaros but do not have the dollars I highly recommend these instead they are truly slightly and I mean hair splittingly slightly behind them
