Cal L's Review of Midwest Industries .223 Wylde Upper Receiver w/Combat M-LOK Handguard

I got the upper with the 15" rail for more mounting room and versatility. I expected that this would increase the weight from the shorter rail options, but this upper was shockingly lightweight, without sacrificing sturdiness. The rail was rock solid, even when I pushed on it at the muzzle tip. With this rail you can trust that whatever accessory you wish to mount will stay zeroed for when you need it.

The fit and finish on my example is exemplary. It is an even matte black on all surfaces with T-markings on the top of the receiver and rail. The clocking of the rail and of the flashider is 100% spot on.

After I tossed in a BCG & charging handle, I showed my wife the completed product. She was impressed by its light weight and ease of wielding compared to my other uppers. This leads to my only complaint of the upper, my wife having realized its handiness has claimed it for her own. That's alright, she'll let me shoot it occasionally.
Pros:
  • Leightweight
  • Solid well built
Cons:
  • None

  • Law Enforcement
  • Home defense

About Cal L from IL, United States

I was born and raised a city boy. Despite that, I started shooting at 5 years old. That started a lifelong passion. I have been working in the firearm industry since 2005. I decided that it’s true, do what you love, and never work a day in your life.
