cheddemier's Review of Midwest Industries Ruger PC9 Combat Rail
This is a major upgrade to the Ruger PC Carbine stock hand guard in both functionality and aesthetics. I initially purchased the Catalyst Arms Hardpoint but found it lacking usable MLOK slots (only 2 really work). The MI hand guard has all you need plus multiple QD slots. Installation was a breeze and MI hand guard provides the benefit of protecting you from hand burns during prolonged shooting.
Note on alignment: some people have experienced issues with the PC chassis and MI hand guard not totally lining up. After installation I noted that the point were the bottom curve of the hand guard meets the Ruger chassis looks a few millimeters wider, like the angle of curve is slightly different. It's totally minor and unnoticeable unless you look for it and the sides, top and bottom align perfectly. Most importantly it had zero impact on functionality or comfort for me or any of my friends and all people could do was rave about the rifle.
Final assessment. This part is a keeper and I'm in the process of buying more MI parts. Totally worth the money, makes your PC Carbine look mean, and is a solid investment.
