Pricey but worth it. - MILI Ammo 12 Gauge 1 oz 2.75" Rifled Slug Shotgun Slug Ammunition

I was pleasantly surprised with the performance out of these shells out of Mossberg 590 mariner 20in smooth bore shotgun. Had to sell my hunting rifle sadly due to financial troubles, so I was looking for a reliable and consistent slug for whitetail hunting/ defensive purposes. I had tried patterning multiple loads from my gun including winchester PDX1 slug/buck combo, standard Remington green box 1oz foster rifled slugs, and winchester white box equivalent. I found that and in keeping with the current trend in poor quality ammunition (post covid quality) none of the ammunition I used to be consistent. Always sending a flyer when I thought that I was squared away. Picked up 50 rounds of this Mili defense 12GA slugs in despair that I may have to skip out on this deep season. When to my surprise I found this ammunition to be exceptionally consistent, powder didn't have a sulfuric stench (indicating "fresh" powder), and although I didn't chronograph my shots I would be inclined to believe that the advertised muzzle velocity of 1550 FPS Is within the ballpark of the true velocity. While I cannot prove this due to lack of chrono the report, recoil, and consistency of POA/POI lead me to believe it to be true. All in all I would recommend this ammunition to the next person, unless something has drastically changed in the last few days.
