John's Review of Military Surplus Italian Glass Carafe 1L
So I really only ordered this item because I needed something to fill the price gap to receive free shipping. I can't find out very much information about this at all. It does have an "Italian Airforce" symbol etched on the side but the bottom is clearly marked "France" sort of molded into the glass. Not etched, the letters are raised, so some other process almost like if you used a torch to weld words onto metal. It seems relatively heavy duty for glassware, but there is a seam down one side and some warping I can see in the glass near the seam. A little crude but it does have some heft. I bought this hoping it was a WW2 era carafe but like I said I can't find very much about it at all. I have found ceramic dishware and glassware with the same insignia that is part of the "Italian Officer's Club" collection on Swiss Link Military Surplus which I believe this must be a part of however not confirmed. It's larger than I thought it would be but a little lower quality so I gave it 3/5. It is approximately 9" tall and 4 1/2" wide at the globe, neck is about 1". Kind of cool for less than 10 bucks.
Pros:
- Thick Glass
Cons:
- A little crude
Would Recommend:
