I have been looking at this crossbow for a long time and finally decided to make the purchase. Like others have said this crossbow is not the fastest on the market but after looking at many other brands I believe it is the best built. I have owned a couple Barnett crossbows and they have served me well but there is no comparison to the quality of this crossbow. The purchase through Optics Planet went smooth and was by far the cheapest price I found. I purchased this item while it was on sale and was able to use the discount for signing up for emails and on top of that I got Optics Planet Bucks for my next purchase. I am very pleased with this purchase.

This is a tack driver. Dont aim at the same spot under 80 yrds if you are shooting it on a bench. You will ruin bolts. Also have a good target to shoot it in for cross bows. A regular compound bow target may not stop the bolt.

I received my mission sub 1 xr kit and I am impressed with the accuracy of this bow , got it lined in and hit bulls eye at 80 yards going to stretch it out to 100 next time out with it. Also optics planet price was buy far the best pice I could find.

If you are looking for something built tough, that is reliable and easy to work on yourself... Then look no further than any Mission Sub 1 crossbow. I went with the XR for the faster speeds. I can use a heavy arrow and still keep a good speed. It's a made in the USA product so it supports good American jobs. Without imported junk in the bows, expect the price to reflect the quality.
I have shot about 100 times now and can say it's a great design. The string wear is minimal, it's quiet and smooth. The down sides are so few and the ups so many and great. I took the plunge and hoped I would like it. Optics Planet said I could return it. I later found a dealer about 15 minutes away. See if you have someone close and take a look at one yourself.

Also, Optics Planet is great. They shipped fast and had very good customer service. The discounts added up nicely. Very satisfied with the entire experience.

Wildly accurate. Superbly machined. Legacy bow. If you're wondering, it can do it. If you're interested you should do it. It is expensive though and it would help to have the crank system for it. Scope that comes on it is nice too.

Impressive design and quality of build! Everything was perfect when I received with quick shipping. I only shot a bit so far, but smooth, quiet, and accurate. I looked at a lot of crossbows and just kept coming back to Mission. Not the smallest or fastest, but this engineer/hunter says it is the one!
