Matt R's Review of Mission First Tactical Battlelink Minimalist Mil-Spec Stock for AR-15

This stock is awesome and was everything I wanted it to be. I would have given it 5 stars. However, I deducted one start because mine arrived misassembled and I had to first fix the assembly problem before I could install the item. Evidently, I am not the only person who had this problem because there are comments on YouTube of others who had the same issue. Mission First Tactical should do better Quality Assurance on their products before they go out the door.

Here is the problem and how to fix it...

Problem: The Adjustment lever does not completely go in all the way so that you are unable to install the stock on the buffer tube as the stock's locking positional pin does not clear the buffer tube.

Fix:
1) Put the stock in a clear work area.
2) You will need an Allen wrench, forceps, and I recommend a bright headlamp.
3) Remove the both adjustment screws on the stock with the allen wrench. Be careful because once you do this and push the adjustment lever, the spring will flying out!
4) Put the body of stock on its "back" with the butt section facing your body and the tip of the butt section facing your chin.
5) Press the front of the adjustment lever so that he inside of the stock body is exposed.
6) With the headlamp, shine it in the rear part of the stock and find the cavity the spring goes into. Use the forceps to place the spring into the cavity.
7) There is also a cavity in the adjustment lever that you can't see! You will need to adjust the spring position so that it goes into the cavity of the adjustment lever. I recommend once the spring is initially placed, slightly tilt the stock towards you so that the spring falls backward and will then be properly positioned to go into the cavity of the adjustment lever. Be patient.. it may take a few tries to get it positioned correctly.
8) Once the spring is in, immediately put in the front screws so that the spring doesn't come out.
After completing these steps, the level arm can now be depressed enough for the stock's position pin to clear the buffer and be installed.
Pros:
  • If you are looking for a minimalist stock that is cool, this is the one
Cons:
  • It may arrive mis-assembled
