This is an excellent monocular when used at times with 50% or more moon light available. Works very well for hunting when used with compatible red dot sights. If looking for a monocular to use during very dark nights, I would recommend the PVS-14, which includes manual gain adjustment, instead. The MV-14 sacrifices the manual gain adjustment for a slightly lighter and smaller housing. Weigh which option is more important to you. Head mount provided is extremely uncomfortable, as I expected. Plan to purchase a helmet and swing arm mount. The sacrificial lens and demist shield are difficult to install if these are important to you.
Pros: Lightweight, excellent image tube
Cons: Head mount, sacrificial lense installation
