Mozella's Review of Mueller 8.5-25x 44mm 1 inch AO Tactical Shock Proof Rifle Scope

I mounted this scope on a brand new Savage MK II FV .22 rifle and took it to the range to zero in. After quickly zeroing the scope at 50 yards I consulted my "External Ballistics" Android app for 100 yards. It advised me to go up 56 clicks on my Mueller scope. I dialed in exactly 56 clicks and fired a three shot group. Bingo, all three inside the 1" bulls eye; my very first shots at 100 yards. This is a lot of scope for the money and I'd buy it again except that I'm buying a slightly larger Mueller scope for my new Howa .223.

Not only does this scope function well, it's internal parts are apparently made to a very high standard and the adjustment knobs match the theoretical ballistics perfectly. I'm not a long range hunter, but if I were and if I had some way to measure distance and/or wind I would have complete confidence that adjusting the scope based on the data derived from a ballistics calculator would result in a first shot hit.

Check the Mueller web site for the scope dimensions and shop accordingly for mounting rings. The front AO optic is rather large. In fact, the Optics Planet salesman insisted I purchase a set of rings which turned out to be too low; he should have known better. Do your own careful research when selecting a mounting system.
