savage-shooter's Review of Mueller Optics 8-32x44mm Side Focus Tactical Rifle Scope

Scope was placed on a savage 93R17.

Tracking - My scope tracks OK, return to zero is good, twist and shoot measurements are near spot on with scope tapping of the turret once adjusted. This could be a hinderance for some shooters in some situations, but for me shooting targets has been fine and now it is like second nature to give my turret a tap with my knuckle once adjusted.
Turret feel - turrets are a little 'mushy', don't quite have the click feel and audible click I would like, but they are easily felt and slightly heard.
Optic clarity - once a repeatable and comfortable cheek weld was established the optic clarity is very good for a scope in this price range. High zoom (24-32x) does result in a little optic dimming.
Side parallax - adjustments are good and the markings fairly accurate. the adjustment moves with a firm grip and is very easy to adjust to focus. (adjust is firm enough to avoid accidental movement but not stiff)
Packaging - scope was well packaged for shipment, includes a sunshade, includes bikini style caps, and the typical cleaning cloth and paperwork.
mildot reticle - works well for me shooting fairly small targets, reticle could cause some shooters target coverage on very small targets at long distance, but shooting 1"-2" at 100/150 should be fine, anything larger should not be an issue.

For my use in a trainer style mildot scope for a rimfire shooting primarily at targets this is a great scope. It could be better but at this price point it is very good. I own a handful of different scopes on both rimfire and centerfire rifles, this scope holds zero well, tracks pretty well with a tap of the turret, and has pretty good optic clarity. I would buy another without reservations.
