Badly out of spec - NcSTAR 30mm Cantilever Optic Quick Release Mount

I purchased this cantilever mount to solve a problem on my AR15 build. I have a Vortex Strikefire II mounted on a Gibbz side-charging upper receiver. When using the charging handle, the large bolt on the Vortex mount will tear skin right off my hand. So I needed an upper with a bolt on the right side instead of the left, but I still wanted to the keep the cantilever look. However, I found that this mount is out of spec so that it will not fully engage a standard picatinny rail. Since it won't sit flat against the top of the rail, the side locking piece will barely engage enough metal to hold the mount in place. It would take some serious metal removal to fix this mount so that it worked correctly. Also, I had to file a small notch to allow the Strikefire to fit fully.
