After Shooting M4 with a Trijicon TA31 then going to another unit that gave an ole M16 as an assigned weaponed to deploy with. I felt out gunned. $38 for this 2-6x28 is a good deal. Luckily did have to use it at all while deployed except to qualify. This will let your M16 hit 600 meter targets on the KD range with no problem. Zeroing was tricky the first time for regular qualification. You want to aim center mass and have rounds strike 6 squares down. Then 250 and 300 meter targets come down with the crosshair on the head all other with center mass placement. Only hit 37 of 40 with ACOG and M4. Hit 40 of 40 first time on M16 with NcStar 2-6x28 handle mount. They should at least get us optics like these for Afghanistan.
Pros: Cheap, practical
Cons: Sit a little high on carrying handle
