Legacy Reviewer's Review of NcSTAR Compact Rifle Scope - 6x32 Scope / Blue SC632B Rifle Scope
NcSTAR Compact Rifle Scope - 6x32 Scope / Blue SC632B
I wanted a compact fixed power scope with mil dot reticle and this one with it's short overall length and 6x magnification is perfect for my SKS rifle. The scopes length is easily short enough to be mounted over the SKS receiver cover and still allow room for loading with stripper clips. Even after adding Butler Creek flip up scope caps! The view is bright and clear enough for distances to 300-400 yd. The reticle can be focused at any distance by turning the ring at the rear of the eyepiece. The reticle ran a bit out of round as the eyepiece was turned though so set the reticle's focus for a common range and then leave it alone once you've zeroed the scope. The P4 reticle in combination with the scope's 6x magnification, works well for hold overs way beyond the effective range of my SKS rifle. My scope takes a beating with the heavy SKS bolt carrier pounding the receiver every shot. With 200+ rounds fired, this scope is holding zero just fine.
The ranging formula supplied with the scope is wrong IMO so if you're going to do rangefinding with this scope you should create a custom ranging table for this scope using known sized targets at known distances.
This scope is a good value IMO.
Pros: See the comments
Cons: Target knobs would be nice on this scope but the scope would cost more.
