Ncstar illuminated sec3942r ar scope - NcSTAR Illuminated Compact Rifle Scope - 3-9x42E Ill. Scope / Ruby SEC3942R Rifle Scope

For around $48.00, this isn't a bad little 3-9 power illuminated scope for "plinking" with my AR with 16" barrel. Very compact and mounted to standard 1" dia. x 1.5" tall scope rings. Not sure if this can be used with a cantilever style mount since the area where it attaches is very narrow, so do your research 1st. I bore sighted this at about 100 yards and was about 8" off center with 1st round. After 2 adjustments, I was grouping right around the bullseye at 150 yds. The biggest variance was my over 50s eyesight! The red illumination seemed to work fine, but is a little bright past 5 power during low light conditions. The light seemed to blind me a bit, but works OK during daylight conditions, when illumination isn't really needed. I added Vibra tite purple threadlocker to all the mounting screws and so far the scope is still sighted in just fine. I've only used it twice, so I'll have to see how it holds up to more .223/5.56 rounds in the future.
