SFC's Review of NcStar Stealth GEN II Micro-Dot Reflex Optic

First, if you are a 3-gun competition shooter, this was not designed for you. If, on the other hand you are a casual shooter this little optical sight is pretty good. The cover holds on OK, not a positive click fit, but it will stay on the sight until you remove it, unless you are swinging your rifle like a baseball bat, (generally not recommended, by the way). This optic isn't a combat ready rough and tumble kind of system like an EOTech or some other large and robust sight. It is best for low recoil guns like a 10/22 or a S&W 22 pistol that has a stationary receiver. With these kinds of semiauto actions, the force of recoil is limited to the bolt, and the nature of .22lr also is such that the recoil is not likely to cause damage to this little green dot sight. Keep that in mind if you are wanting to put a small reflex dot sight on your shotgun, 1911, AR 10, M1a, Garand, or any other moderate to high recoil energy weapon. This sight is not designed to take that kind of force. I'm not saying it will not work for that, but I am saying be sensible and consider the size and cost of this little green dot sight. If you do mount it on a howitzer, or a ma deuce, or a .460 S&W or a 12 gauge slug gun don't be surprised if it quits after the first round - and don't complain about it when it fails - that kind of abuse is not the fault of this little reflex sight.

For what it is and what it costs, if you use some sense in what you mount it on it is a pretty good little device.
