Joseph Singh's Review of NcSTAR Tactical Red Laser Pistol Sight w/ Trigger Guard Mount

The trigger guard mounted NcStar Laser is a disappointment for a few reasons. Let's begin with putting in the batteries. The instructions speak to a spring loaded battery door release cover that pops out to put in the batteries and the Door is NOT sprung and will not "pop up" as stated in the instructions. Next up is mounting it: it's difficult at best. The way you mount itis you have to find the right combinations of wedges that are provided to angle the laser correctly forward. these wedges are Lego like in appearance but they do not lock in place. you have to glue or tape them on to hold them in place to mount the laser. DO NOT USE Tape as a permanent solution because it will be too smooth on the trigger guard and cause it to move. I suggest tape to get the proper fitting, then use something like Playdoh to secure the wedges long enough to mount it. If you glue it you won't be able to use it on a different pistol. Mounting it leads to the next issue: the plastic is not the strongest as my 1st one broke sitting on the trigger guard. It started to move and when i checked to see if it loosened the plastic cracked apart. NcStar did replace it for me but that made me leery of keeping it on once I mounted it again. Last issue: trigger guard mount was not wide enough to fit my trigger guard (Ruger P94) and because of that it never fully seated properly. My solution was a blade to trim off enough to be able to seat it properly. The laser works just fine and can be adjusted just fine. That's my only positive.
