Barry's Review of NcSTAR Vism Discreet Carbine Case, 26in
Neither the product info, nor the reviews tell you what exactly you will find inside. I'll do that first.
In the bottom are 4 rows of webbing to loop straps through. There are 2 padded dividers. One is full length, held upright by 3 "U" shaped Velcro straps. It is also held at the ends by Velcro. You will want to align it along one of the rows. The second divider is only held by the Velcro on it's ends. It is only long enough to reach from the case wall to the last row opposite it. So this is a sub-divider only. Together they form 3 very versatile sections. 4 more straps are provided for tying down your pieces. Rounding out carry-ability, there are 2 zippered mesh panels inside the lid, 9" internal width and length, and providing 2.5 inches of give. I can put magazines in 3 across or two deep, but I think the maximum you could stuff in there would be 5. The case carry strap was in one of them.
I have a Steyr AUG with a scope, so I have one heavy main unit and a barrel to stow, plus 30 round magazines. It was a mistake to place the main unit on the handle side with the barrel at the bottom. The tie downs work but jostling worked the panels loose. So keep in mind that Velcro strength has limits. Now I place the unit at the 'bottom', scope inward, and barrel at the top. The third section is for my magazines, up to 3 deep. Perfect! It is strong enough, versatile and I chose urban gray for maximum discreet-ness. It looks like it could be carrying a suit! It looks that good. My only complaint is minor. The zippers can bind at the end, going around the back corner. Padding is adequate, not thick.
