Chris Kuehl's Review of Night Fision Optics Ready Stealth Night Sight Set for Sig P365/P320/EPS

THE GOOD: These sights are very well made. The steel is machined extremely well with no perceivable variation in the edges, flat planes, and each side being precisely the exact same dimensions. The tritium is good. The price is good, they installed easily with a sight tool. THE OK (there is no bad so far): The sights are advertised as being a lower 1/3 cowitness with the holosun eps. Maybe it’s because I have the eps carry, (I believe the description mentioned the eps carry) but my sights seem to be a direct cowitness. After I’m done with the upgrades which I’ll have listed at the bottom, I haven’t re-zeroed the gun and maybe it’s still going to be a lower 1/3 but as it sights right now it’s a direct cowitness. The front “dot” is not nearly as good as the sig xray sights, as in the colored dot is smaller and not nearly as easy to pick up as the xrays’s. These are still a “would buy or recommend” for any p365, optic it not if you want a taller setup. I wish Optics Planet would get set up with the makers of some of my upgrades. The single best upgrade anyone can make to the P365 (every model) is a trigger upgrade. I’ve tried the tyrant, the gray guns, the apex I think it is and some other ones. They are only a trigger shoe and sometimes a spring. The Ramm Tactical Leverage Trigger is a complete overhaul of your FCU. The basic package at $170 I believe comes with 12 or 13 parts. You can pick the color or trigger you want and if your want the rest of the parts to match your trigger Ramm sells them for very reasonable prices. This trigger has adjustable pre and overtravel. I went with the 3.5lb but there is a 2lb. You really do replace everything on your fcu that has to do with the trigger. Even comes with a modified factory takedown lever to acclimate the new geometry. The best description of how it feels would be a Canik rival, Walther pro, 1911, sa cz, or other triggers with glass rod like breaks and zero overtravel, I have my pretravel set at amour 1/4-1/2 mm. I also run the griffin match grade threaded barrel with micro comp, tyrant safety, slide stop, and I’ll eventually send my tyrant take down lever to have it modified or try it myself. I tried 2 “extended” mag release for my x-macro and the the tyrant was absolutely terrible, you will push on a corner of the mag release which is sharp and hurts to use, I think the other one was a grey guns or ndz. The masks precision mag release is a god send, it’ raises it almost 1mm so not too much but it’s more comfortable than the factory one, and it’s all metal unlike the 1/2 metal 1/2 plastic factory one as well as the other “upgrades”. Maskas also sells aluminum keys for weapon lights so you can fine tune where your light ends up. With the kit you can get is as far back as possible without running into the trigger guard. Maskas also sells the ECM R11 grip with the extended safety. The R11 is the best grip. It’s not cheap but it makes it look and feel like a small 2011, where your fcu is mounted in the aluminum frame is lined with steel so you’ll never have to worry about the steel parts of the fcu wearing on the aluminum. ECM also has a huge assortment of grip panels from g10, aluminum, brass and steel if I remember also they have some that have a more pronounced palm swell options. Among the aluminum and polymer grip modules, the aluminum ones are Icarus Ace, Sig AXG black and Sig axg legion, Sharp Bros (they are sharp on the corners feels like your holding a 2x2.5 squared bar), the Mischief Machine, as well as the ECM R11. The Icarus Ace, the R11 are the best but the factory sig axg is a very close second, plus the Sig one is only $300msrp, I’ve seen them for $250, which is crazy when some plastic ones go for that much, the Ace is in the mid 300’s and is on optics planet, the ECM R11 is mid 400’s, I know I know but you’ll understand once you handle one. The guy at ECM is as part of the 1st team designing actual 2011’s back in the day. There’s also shallotek, which is a completely modular setup where you can change grip lengths, rail lengths, safety or no safety. For polymer you only need to look at Wilson Combat or Icarus Air. The strike industries are extremely nice but then only make a x or xl from what I remember.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • Might be more direct cowitness than Lowe 1/3x but each person will be different, the front colored dot is pretty small, not extremely clear dot coloring but could be the tritium vile
  • Might be more closer to direct cowitness rather than lower 1/3. The colored dot on the front sight is pretty small, less bright, and is not nearly as well done as sigs xray sights
