RAPHA's Review of Night Fision Perfect Dot Night Sight Set, U Rear, Glock

I have Ameriglo orange\u notch sight set on my Glock 19 and 43X. I wanted to put the same set on my Glock 41 to keep my Glocks consistent. Ameriglo doesn't offer this set for my 41. I found Night Fision via lots of searching. I bought the orange\u notch set that they had for the Glock 41. Compared directly with the Ameriglos:

Construction is solid. Both sets install easy.
Brightness: The orange ring on the Ameriglo is bright and neon orange. The orange ring on the Fision is a "flat" orange and not as bright. They both stick out well in daylight against the black U rear sight. I prefer the Ameriglos, but as stated not available but the Night Fisions do the job. Maybe I should've selected the red front sight to get a more distinct contrast. The Ameriglo tritium seems brighter and also a tad bigger. Possibly because the orange ring of the Fision is similar to the XS Bid Dot. It seems to have a wider ring that covers up some of the diameter of the tritium vial. Again, it still does the job and was my only choice.
Rear sight: I like the Night Fision rear sight just a little bit more than the Ameriglo. It's a Novak style and the U channel is longer. Both rear sights provide a good sight picture with plenty of space between between the front sight post and rear U notch walls.
Front sight: Both are solid and install securely. The Ameriglo is longer than the Fision. Doesn't seem to make a difference regarding function, just pointing it out the physical difference.
Variety: Obviously Fision had what I needed and Ameriglo did not. Again, maybe I should've picked the red ring front instead of orange, but they still function.
Value: Without the online coupon and holiday savings, the Fisions are $30 more than my Ameriglos. With the coupon and discount, they were only $10 more. Considering Ameriglo doesn't offer a similar set for the Glock 41, it's a great value. Although I would not have paid full price (approx $90).
Overall: Considering these were my only option for my Glock 41 in this specific configuration (orange front\u notch rear), the online coupon and holiday sale, I'm happy with them. I could've gone with a completely different set of Ameriglo, but I wanted to keep all my Glocks consistent.
Pros:
  • Variety: good selection of front sight and rear sight and they had them for my Glock 41.
  • Price: To clarify, sale price with online coupon.
  • Quality: sturdy construction, easy install, rear sight construction.
Cons:
  • Price: Full price is $100, for $10 more might as get Trijicons or other brand.
  • Front sight: orange ring and tritium not as bright vs Ameriglo. Although, maybe the red ring would've been better for me.
Best Used for:
  • any situation where quick front sight acquisition is paramount.
