Shamus's Review of Night Fision Perfect Dot Night Sight Set, U Rear, Glock

I purchased this sight for a Glock that I wanted to upgrade. I have used Meprolight FT Bulls eye and Ameriglo Agent sights on other Glocks and figured I would give these a try as they were something relatively new. I purchased the "yellow" front sight and the rear blacked out tritium night sight combo. Sadly ...I feel like they don't really go together. The front post gets a solid 5 star and is a bright and easy to see in almost all lighting conditions. It excels outside or in the dark where the very bright tritium vial glows brightly. The post is easily installed and the yellow is an excellent option which I highly recommend. Where these sight fell apart in my mind was the rear sight. It is made well and of what appears to be high quality parts. The "U" notched cut is deep and gives a decent sight picture (nearly identical to the Ameriglo Agent sights, the tritium is excellent and while I doubt they are 30% brighter than my Ameriglo Agent sights they are certainly equal to them. The rear sight however doesn't have as much "relief" around the front post as I would prefer (personal opinion obviously) and the "U" notch does not have much of a funnel effect as the Ameriglo Agents. Overall the rear just doesn't impress and seems more like a 2.5 star after thought. Since the sights are largely giving the shooter a similar sight picture, and since they feel very much like a copy of the Agent sights, the increased cost I am assuming is based on the "30% more tritium" marketing aspect and the front post color options. If they were that much brighter I would maybe call it a wash, but they simply are not any level of perceptibly brighter to me. A perfect sight in my opinion would be the front post from Night Fision and the rear from Ameriglo Agents. Overall a solid product and a decent buy - however I will save the money and get the Ameriglo Agents again as my needs arise.
