john net's Review of NightForce NF Benchrest Rifle Scope, 12-42x56mm, 30 mm Tube, Second Focal Plane
I purchased the scope to shoot 1000yd F class targets. Note the scope has only 40 moa of adjustment, +20 and -20 so it gives you +40 moa if your scope mount on the your rifle has +20 up. This allows me to shoot from 100yds to 1000yds. The 40 power makes it easy to see air movements but I shoot at 30 power on a still day. The reticle is very clean and simple which is good for wind correction by holding left or right on the target. The scope looks like it has a good size spring to push against the reticle and the parallax adjustment is on the front lens which should make for simple and durable windage and elevation adjustments. Time will tell. The lens covers are old fashion screw on covers and the front lens cover is a little of a pain to put on but it is dust tight and stays out of the way when shooting. The turret covers are screw on and a little light weight but will show damage if the turret has taken a beating. Note the elevation turrets are marked 0-6 moa with hard mechanical clicks and the turret stays in position. But a full revolution of the turret is 7 moa not 5. It looks like the lens have light mask around the lens edges that gives a very sharp border. Note the front lens is 56mm in diameter and may require an extra high scope mount to clear the rifle barrel.
I would not take this scope deer hunting but I would take it to some country west of Russia.
