World class variable power scope, simply amazing - NightForce ATACR 1-8x24mm LPVO Rifle Scope, 34mm Tube, First Focal Plane

Great scope. I was very skeptical given the price and noting the price is higher than the 4-16x ATACR. Glass is out of this world good. Illumination is stellar. Adjustments are the bet I've ever felt. Zeroing this this was a pleasure. The heavy-duty sounding and feeling 'clink' of the illumination knob makes the user feel like they have something world class in the hands (they do). The illumination, just like my 4-16x ATACR, is the best of any optic manufacturer I've come across. I have an astigmatism and I can use all the settings as long as I'm not using the bright settings at night (wouldn't do this anyways). The reticle I was also skeptical of, but after using it I love it. Illumination works great with it. Scope is awesome at 8x. It doesn't 'disappear' like a KAHLES or a Razor 1-6 on 1x, but it does function kind of like an amazing red dot at 1x. It truly shines when using the magnification though. I do like my Razor at 1x, but I like the ATACR at any other power and certainly over 4x. Razor eyebox at 1x is slightly more forgiving, but the ATACR for whatever reason is more forgiving than the Razor when magnified. The ATACR has a surprisingly large and easy eyebox when magnified and even at 8x where the Razor is much tighter when maxed at 6x. I've noticed for whatever reason the ATACR has a more consistent eyebox across its magnification range. I also like everything else about the ATACR more than the Razor. What this thing can do at range is incredible and the fact that it can dial back to 1x and function so well is just amazing to me. I will add that I wish it had green illumination like my 4-16 ATACR. I didn't think much of this feature until using it and it is awesome. Regardless it is still a solid 5 (or more) star scope. There are some reviews online stating the scope is bulky or heavy, I don't feel this way and can move a sling around it just fine. I plan to compete in 2 gun with it and cant wait.
