My binoculars are used for spotting aircraft from a distance of about 1500 feet to 5 miles. At age 69, I have good distance vision and use binoculars without wearing my vision corrective glasses.
The Nikon 8.5x56 Monarch Binoculars are the best, by far, of the 6 binoculars I use for this purpose.
The depth of field, from the 56mm objective lenses, makes it possible to view aircraft at changing distances without changing the focus or the eyepiece diopter adjustment. The viewing emage is large and bright.
The 8.5 power is a good compromise between magnification and hold ability.
This binocular is large and heavy, but both are worth the effort needed for the results.
Pros: Good optics - very good depth of field
Cons: Large and heavy
