Like other reviewers have mentioned-it's way to tight on the rail. - Nikon M-223 1in Mount

Other reviewers mentioned it didn't fit their rail and/or was too tight. I thought they must have Chinese guns with rails a little wider than American made rails. I was wrong. My gun is and American made Colt Competition AR. I had to lubricate the mount and use a rubber mallet to get it on the rail. It's so tight, that the retaining screws wouldn't be needed. This was the recommended mount, for my M-223 Nikon Scope, so I took a chance and purchased it. I'm going to remove it and machine the mounting area wider. These are clearly machined wrong at the factory. It's hard to believe a company like Nikon manufactured something like this. I give it 2 stars, instead of 1, only because, although it doesn't fit like it should, what's there is nicely made. If you don't mind re-machining a mount that's pretty expensive to begin with, then this is for you!
