Pete G's Review of Nikon P-308 4-16x42mm Rifle Scope

Did quite a bit of research trying to select a scope for my Springfield M1A. Went back and forth quite a few times before making the selection. For me it was an optimization process linking quality, value and usability. There are more expensive and less expensive scopes on the market, likewise better and poorer quality scopes. Since the scope was designed around .308 ammunition and the rifle while accurate in its stock condition and with modifications can be very accurate out to the limits of the ammunition, my rifle is not intended to be a precision long range target rifle. This allowed me to select a scope (not cheap at all) in a more modest price range. For those that are interested, I am using a Sadlak aluminum mount and Leopold low scope rings. I am very satisfied with the scope, mount and rings. To date, there has been approximately 400 rounds through the rifle since installation of the scope at distance of 100 to 300 yards. Something else to consider if this is to be mounted on an M1A with a similar configuration will be the need for a cheek riser to get proper eye alignment and relief.
