i was hesitant to purchase this thinking the teather wouldn't be strong enough to retract with the weight a range finder. i was surprised with how strong this was. it has no problem handling my Bushnell ARC range finder. having it on a teather is much more convenient than trying to remember which po...

I like the easy accsess to my rangefinder, but in the middle of a hunt if you are ranging an animal, instead of shooting lanes in antisapation of an animal, it is far too loud, anything within 40 or 50 yards will spook and run for the hills!!
Pros: easy accsess to my rangefinder

Finding just where to attach the clip on a jacket or pants is yet to be determined. The tether is plenty long and the spring is strong. It doesn’t seem loud, but… when I’m all alone in my stand, I think my breathing and heartbeat are too loud! I may find or make an attachment point on the stand or in the blind for easy reach, rather than on me.

This tether works simply and attached to the rangefinder or case with a keyring type attachment and the other end hooks onto clothing/belt or safety harness with a hook/spring closure. There is an additional disconnect at the rangefinder end if the cable is wanted to be disconnected with minimum fuss/movement. The tether contains a spring loaded wire that pulls the rangefinder back to the belt attachment and out of your way. The wire extends for approximately 2 feet in length and retracts promptly. This is a useful accessory, but I was surprised that it was more expensive than the neoprene case. It is was half to 2/3 the price it would be better value.
Pros: Easy to use, Keeps rangefinder out of the way until needed, Camo
Cons: More expensive than the case!

The tether is a good idea but if you have the Nikon Rangefinder Case this is redundant...
The only drawback is the fact that the rangefinder hangs loose on the side making it prone to damage if you need to lay flat on your belly.
The carry position makes the rangefinder in the way if you use it on the golf course. For range work, or chair hunting this will work fine!
Pros: Easy to use, brilliant concept
Cons: Rangefinder hangs loose
