Don't jump at the name - Nikon Buckmasters 3-9x40 Matte Rifle Scope w/ BDC Reticle

If you're shopping for a 3x9x40 this isn't a bad scope. I have a Redfield 3x9x40 and a 50. I bought the Nikon just for something different at this price point. The Redfield is brighter and target acquisition is almost immediate. The sweet spot is huge and does not have to be hunted for. Eye relief and optical centering are unforgiving with the Nikon. Side by side - no question - buy the Redfield
Pros: Nice finish, good glass, solid construction
Cons: critical sweet spot
