Luke Davis's Review of Nitecore P10i Luminous SST-40-W LED USB-C Rechargeable Flashlight

I looked around for quality light that wasn’t going to cost to horribly much and this is what my research lead me too. So far I’ve put it to work for about 10 months now and it’s easily the best light I’ve used no issues at all, the holster held up too. It’s packed with features and comes in a very rigid and durable body, has a charge indicator, two separate buttons for on/ off, and mode selector, and a well protected external charging port on the side. However it my favorite feature is that unless you deliberately utilize the other modes it acts like a regular old fashioned light, one press on, one press off, no cycling through low, med, high, strobe, sos, or whatever other modes are out there which gets pretty annoying when your trying to look at something in the dark and your light is blinking at it or doing something other than illuminating it. I can’t think of a time I’ve ever used strobe or sos but so many lights have them for some reason.
I’ve dropped it pretty hard from well above what it’s rated to fall from and other than turning off nothing came of it, I’ve gotten it submerged several times too and it’s still working.
It charges fast and stays running for a long while, I don’t know if it’s truly 1,800 lumens but I can see cattle from well over 200 yards so it’s plenty bright for me especially for a light I can basically put in my pocket.
I will say though the turbo mode does chew through that battery life and the lumen drop from turbo to high is a little drastic in my opinion, if turbo is truly 1,800 then high has to be closer to 700 which means I often end up using turbo which runs the battery down faster. Also this light gets HOT, be warned although it probably won’t burn you it’ll definitely get your attention if you grab the front after a minute or two of turbo. The other settings don’t heat up hardly at all. Lastly I’d wished they recessed the tail button a little, it gets pressed on in my pocket time to time or on my belt, it never presses all the way to turn it on but still gets annoying to have a negligent discharge of light.
Overall great light in a compact package I’d recommend to just about anyone for any roll you need a light to fill.
