coinshot's Review of Nitecore TM06 Cree XM-L2 U2 LED Tiny Monster LED Flashlight, 3800 Lumens
I a was very disappointed when I charged up the batteries and took the light out for a peak across the field behind my house. All the hype had me excited. I cycled through the power modes, trying to find turbo mode. I gave up and went to instruction manual. I had been in turbo the hole time. What a let down. I have a TM 26 which is the best light I have seen. I hunt raccoon and black bear. I have a lot of experience with lights. The 26 is heavy. When you head out for a night or two you with a backpack, little things add up. To have the light with the power of a TM 26 in a lighter smaller package would be great. Long and short. The New TM 06 has about half the output of the 26. This light was made for those who have never owned a 26. The quality of light is pathetic with a heavy green tint. I carry three small walking lights and three spot lights. I pulled out a few lights to compare. The 06 puts out as much usable light as my fenix TK 41. The 06 is the only light I have that is green. My other spot lights blow it out of the water. The fenix is one of my walking lights, and I guess if it were a little lighter the 06 would fall into that category because of it's battery life. The 06 has too much spill and it is green! I know there is a dozen different ways to measure light and NC wrung the guts out of one of them to sell me on the 06. The 26 is an awesome light. It is bright, white, has as much spill as the 06 with twice the throw.
